Using the Podcast

What is Podcasting?

Podcasting is a way to receive audio files, including sermons, over the Internet. These feeds deliver audio broadcasts to your desktop. You can listen to these files on your computer or load them onto your iPod or MP3 player and take them with you.

Getting Started

All you need to get started using the podcast is some software. We recommend iTunes, which is a free download from Apple. Another program that downloads podcasts is Juice, which is available for free from SourceForge.

Using iTunes (Automatic)

  1. Begin by downloading iTunes from Apple. Follow the instructions on that site to install iTunes to your computer.
  2. Once you have installed iTunes, click here to open the podcast in iTunes.
  3. iTunes should open and you should see the podcast called Grace Protestant Reformed Church.
  4. Click on the Subscribe button to subscribe to the podcast.
  5. Click on Subscribe again when you are prompted.
  6. Click on Get Episode to download individual sermons from the podcast.
  7. Once a sermon is downloaded, double-click on its title to listen to the sermon.

Using iTunes (Manual)

  1. Begin by downloading iTunes from Apple. Follow the instructions on that site to install iTunes to your computer.
  2. Once you have installed iTunes, open it and click on the Advanced menu.
  3. Click on Subscribe to Podcast.
  4. Copy and paste the following into the window:
    http://www.graceprc.org/rss.cfm
  5. If you see a screen asking you if you are sure you want to subscribe, click Yes.
  6. You should now see the podcast called Grace Protestant Reformed Church added to the Podcast screen. Below it you should see a list of recent sermons.
  7. If the sermons do not download automatically, click on the Get button next to the title to begin the download.
  8. Once a sermon is downloaded, double-click on its title to listen to the sermon.
