- To follow the Lamb is to love sacrificially.
- He loved those given to Him more than Himself, even to death.
- Our obedience to the call to love is evidence that we are following the Lamb(I John 4:8,12; 5:2).
- To follow the Lamb is to be humbly obedient.
- To follow the Lamb means to be humble.
- He was ?meek and lowly in heart? and told His followers to ?learn of Me? (Matt. 11:28).
- ?Let this mind be in you? (Phil. 2:5).
- The Lamb was silently obedient (Phil. 2:8) consciously following only to His Father?s will.
- To follow the Lamb is to serve, for humble obedience evidences itself in service (Matt. 20:28; John 13).
- To follow the Lamb is to endure (be patient).
- The Lamb denied Himself (Phil. 2:6), for He suffered willingly.
- He lived seeking to do the will of Him that sent Him (Luke 2:49; John 6:38; Mark 14:35,36).
- The Lamb ?pleased not Himself,? so ought we to do as He did (Rom. 15:2,3)
- The Lamb ?bore,? ?endured? many things.
- So we are to ?endure? hardness, patiently suffering tribulation (Rom. 12:7,12; I Peter 2:19,20; II Tim. 4:5; Heb. 12:7; II Tim. 2:10; James 5:11).
- Suffering occasions enduring, causes our souls to cling to God more, and enables us to be sympathetic.
- To follow the Lamb is to go to glory and the victor?s crown. (Rev. 14:1-4).
- It was through the way of suffering that God led Jesus to high exaltation (Phil. 2:9-11).
- It is in the way of humility, sacrificial self-denial, and humble obedience that God glorifies us.
