- The destination.
- Jesus spoke of heaven as His Father’s house.
- It is where the everywhere-present God reveals Himself in a very special way.
- To live in our Father’s house is to be His covenant child, knowing His love, care, protection, and safety.
- It is the place of greatest blessing for a creature; a place of greatest comfort and joy.
- Jesus is the Way to the Father and His house.
- A “way” is a traveled path or a road.
- Jesus identifies Himself as the way which leads to the Father and to heaven.
- He does not point out the way (as a guide), but He is the Way.
- We need the way because the Father’s house is shut to all those who fell in Adam.
- God provided the way for us to come to Him and into His covenant house and fellowship.
- Jesus is THE (not “a”) Way to the Father (Acts 4:12).
- Why is Jesus the way?
- Because He along is God, the “I am.”
- Jesus is the Way, because He is the Truth.
- Jesus is the Way because He is the Life.
- The experience this this truth if found in our walking the way.
- To walk this way is to acknowledge that Jesus is the only way to heaven.
- It is the walk of faith, knowing Jesus to be all that He says He is, and trusting Him to be the way, the truth, and the life.
- The disciples believed in Jesus, but their faith was weak.
