  1. Praiseworthy.
    1. The context has described many virtues of a God-fearing woman.
    2. Her virtues flow from her fear of the Lord.
      1. Her virtues are actually like fruit, for they evidence the tree which produces such fruit is a good tree.
      2. Of what does the fear of Jehovah consist?
      3. It is not possible to maintain the self-sacrificing, diligent love and hard work without a lively faith in Jehovah.
  2. She resists the ever-present temptation to see praise for the wrong things.
    1. She does not seek to be praised for “favor” and “beauty.”
      1. “Favor” is gracefulness, loveliness of form and charm; “beauty” is first brightness or splendor, and then outward beauty.
      2. Beauty and outward splendor are “vain” is a vapor or a breath.
      3. “Deceitful” is what deceives, disappoints, and betrays as a lie or something false.
    2. This text is a valuable guide for marriage choices.
      1. May virtues, not beauty, be the primary concern for men and for women.
      2. Be assured that her love of God is the best promise and guarantee that she will love you as long as you both live.
  3. The virtuous woman is worthy of praise and commendation.
    1. The girl and woman who fears Jehovah does not pursue the praise of men.
    2. The virtuous woman is worthy of praise, for the fear of God is the most beautiful of all ornaments (I Peter 3:2-4).
    3. May girls and women use this virtuous woman as the mirror before which they “dress” themselves.
    4. And as the bride of Christ, may every member of the church endeavor for the virtues which flow from the fear of Jehovah.
